Quarterly update for Sellers Auto / Artist Studio petroleum cleanup site 489201547 / 489201548 update #63)‏

July 31, 2012

Ms. Mills,

I would like to take this opportunity to give you our sixty-third update on the project.   Since the last update, we received the second quarterly Post Active Remediation Monitoring (PARM) groundwater sampling results (report received June 13, 2012).  These results were all below Groundwater Cleanup Target Levels like the prior results were.   We now have two out of the required four PARM results to close the site.

The next two quarterly PARM reports are due on October 1, 2012 (3rd Qtr) and December 31, 2012 (4th Qtr).

The next update I will send on November 1, 2012 will include the third quarter results.  I will send the update that includes the fourth quarterly results as soon as I get them, which should be in early to mid December.

As always, please feel free to call me anytime if you need additional information or have any questions.

Thank you,

Damon Taylor

Quarterly update for Sellers Auto / Artist Studio petroleum cleanup site 489201547 / 489201548 update #61)‏

February 1, 2012

Ms. Mills,

I would like to take this opportunity to give you our sixty first update on the project.

Since the last update on November 1st, we secured funding for the first two quarters of Post Active Remediation Monitoring (PARM).  The first sampling event has not occurred yet, but I expect to get a field notification from Argus of it taking place soon.   The data from the first sampling event will certainly be available by the next update on May 1st.

Argus is at the site this week doing the long term storage preparation for the equipment.   However, the equipment will not be started back up except for just for a few minutes per month (daytime) to rotate the motors.

As always, please feel free to call me anytime if you need additional information or have any questions.

General Membership Meeting – LYMMO Meeting 1/26

Neighbors,

The community meeting to discuss the Lynx Lymmo project will be held on Thuesday 26 January 2012 (see attached public notice).  The consultants will be presenting their preferred northern alignment at that meeting.  Our neighborhood has been very much engaged in this urban planning effort and we have every reason to anticipate that our concerns and preferences will be reflected in the Consultant’s recommended alignment.  This meeting will be our final chance to influence the future path of this transportation system which could be a huge benefit to our neighborhood.  I hope that each of you will attend and that the Lake Formosa neighborhood will be well represented.

Monthly update for Sellers Auto / Artist Studio petroleum cleanup site 489201547 / 489201548 update #59)‏

October 3, 2011

Ms. Mills,

I would like to take this opportunity to give you our fifty-ninth monthly update on the project.   The good news is that at the end of the last quarterly period the system was turned off and, as long as the site is clean for the second consecutive quarter, the system will remain off.   I will follow up with you in a couple of weeks to confirm this after we get the data back from the late September groundwater sampling event.   If the system remains off, I propose changing the frequency of these updates to quarterly to coincide with the quarterly Post Active Remediation Monitoring reports.

 Report Status

The next report of active operation and maintenance should be the final one and it is due on October 31, 2011.   AS stated in the last update, if the results of the late September groundwater sampling show a rebound, we may have to restart the system after that.  However, I am optimistic that we won’t have to do that.   After this report that is due in October, we plan on beginning quarterly sampling.   A minimum of four quarters of sampling is required by Chapter 62-770 and a Site Closure is able to be considered if the last two results are below cleanup target levels.

System Status:

There is no new information regarding the system status other than it is off.   After we begin quarterly monitoring, the consultant will be tasked with mothballing the system to prevent deterioration from lack of use while it remains on site in case of a rebound in groundwater concentrations.  In the beginning of the third quarter of groundwater sampling, it may be put on the FDEP’s list of sites that are available for transfer to another site.  Although it won’t be running, (assuming there is no need to turn it back on) the system will probably remain there for a full year longer.

Milestone Update:

As stated in last month’s update, all of the wells sampled in the comprehensive annual sampling event at the end of June are below Groundwater Cleanup Target Levels (GCTL).    We will need to watch AW-28, DW-11 and MW-9 in the next sampling event to verify these wells do not rebound since these have only showed to be below target levels one time.   Wells AW-10 and MW-5 will also need to be checked.  Assuming the results of the late September sampling show every well to remain below target levels, the system will be turned off and the one year or Post Active Remediation Monitoring (PARM) will begin.

I will send you a very brief update on or before October 17, 2011.    Please feel free to call me anytime if you need additional information or have any questions.

Thank you,
