Dear Neighbor,

Please join me Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30 p.m. for a community meeting hosted by Florida Hospital to discuss the progress of plans for their Health Village, a medical and mixed-use project located in and around their Orange Avenue/ Rollins Street campus.

Representatives from the City of Orlando’s Planning and Transportation Departments will also be on hand to listen to comments and answer questions from local citizens.

The meeting will take place at the Loch Haven Neighborhood Center, 610 North Lake Formosa Drive. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

The City’s Municipal Planning Board (
http://www.cityoforlando.net/planning/cityplanning/MPB.htm
) will also be reviewing this project at their November 18th meeting.  The public is invited to attend and share comments if they feel inclined.

Thanks for your interest in our community- I look forward to seeing you on the 5th!

MPB Refuses to Approve Parking for Dowd Project

Neighbors,

On 5/19 I spoke before the Municipal Planning Board regarding the Dowd Project on Virginia Drive to urge them to add an additional on-street parallel parking space in front of the building. In spite of our neighborhood’s support of an additional parking space, Dowd’s support of an additional parking space, the City planning department’s support of an additional parking space, and the current City planning documents recommending additional on-street parking along Virginia, I failed to convince the MPB to add this condition. The Traffic Engineer would not support a reduction of the design standard of 23′ length for parallel parking spaces, and our request for the additional space failed.
